hello everyone im bahraini citizen and i just want to rest your mind that you dont have to change your number plate if your going to bahrain for a visit , even for residency , at bahrain customs you can just tell them for how long your staying there or if its for residency and you will pay some amount and thats it , it will be a bit more to do for those who have visa if they want to change the number plate .
i'll explain simply about the procedure of how to take your car to bahrain
first you need to have bahraini visa , once that is done
you should make sure you pay all your fines in uae
next make sure of the date of your car registration and license expiry date or whatever to prevent paying for any fines
than you can go to tasjeel and get a certificate that allows you to export your car to bahrain , once that is done
you can drive your car or put it on a truck or whatever until you reach saudi borders there you have to pay i guess not sure though around 500 dirhams and few money for ur car insurance while your driving in ksa
than once u reached to bahrain border again you have to pay around 500 for bahraini customs and also for your car insurance while staying in bahrain
but the procedure of changing the number plate to bahraini number plate i dont know much about it
but i can give you simple advise just keep your number plate and just tell them at bahrain costumes you will be there for 3-7 days and pay small amount for that , once your in bahrain go to gulf insurance agency in bahrain and get insurance for your car that can cover for entire GCC and few other countries , that can solve one part of the problem
but paying for ksa and bahrain customs is a must even us GCC citizens we pay them the same amount
well that is about it
