Autodealer UAE was there when the Aston Martin Vanquish was landed on top of the Burj Al Arab's Helipad! This was a feat that the weather in Dubai these days really tested, as the original planned date of this event was pushed up a couple of days due to windy weather!
It was windy, and more so at those heights, but the helicopter pilot was skillful to make sure that the beauty 2013 Vanquish did not become a bug on the Burj Al Arab screen - but rather elegantly landed on the helipad where a row of VIPs were waiting to great it. Among them the CEO for Aston Martin, Dr Ulrich Bez,the AMMENA GM Neil Slade and the British Ambassador to UAE Domonique Jeremy.
This is the first of a series of Centennial celebrations of Aston Martin that will be held around the world. For Aston Martin, the Middle East and specially Dubai are key markets of growth. Dr Bez mentioned that in 2013 they still see most of the sales still happening in UK, Europe and USA, but they are focusing on that each of the 5 regions they have divided their sales operations into will generate 20% each. Among the focus markets going ahead was clearly AMMENA and China.
Aston Martin remains a top British brand that represents quality, sportiness and the something very British. Being the car used in many Bond movies its iconic value remains similar to that British super-spy. The event also show-cased the 'GREAT'ness of UK design and innovation - also something the Ambassador proudly re-emphasized.
A great start to a great 100 year celebration! We hope to see more of these in the region. UAE and Qatar remain top markets for Aston Martin in the region. Its also a top market for the 'Q by Aston Martin' brand that's been recently launched to customize or 'personalize' Astons. When the CEO was asked when we will see an Aston Martin SUV over here, he did not rule it out - but no imminent plans as of yet!
