Postby randary on Mon Jan 22, 2007 1:12 pm

Thanks

Fortuner Accessories

Postby randary on Mon Jan 22, 2007 7:00 pm

By the way, there are ready made accessories for Fortuners's, here is an example:

Problem is they never respond to queries

Not bad! - the Fortuner on CarryBoy looks nice :)

The bull bar im sure you can find locally - in fact ive seen a very similar one today! - Try checking around the Deira, Naif Rd area...

anything else i doubt your going to find, but if you have the cash - its always an option to have it fabricated.

Also try AutoPlus as i know they carry such things (im not sure if they have anything for the Fortuner but try....).

PS - any issues with the fortuner?
Am thinking of picking up an 07 4.0L but hate the tacky wood trim.... really puts me off..

I thought I saw a shop next to 4x4 motors in Garhoud near the airport. They seem to have SUV accessories but dont know if there is anything for Fortuners.

The other place is ofcourse Naif area as navadv said but also Sharjah BMW showroom road.

The Fortuner is a practical and fun car to drive. Definitly no frills. The 4.0 L V6 engine is great. Its heavy on fuel if you don;t mind paying for it. It should have come with a larger tank only 50 litres. If you clock a lot of miles daily you'll be making 2-3 top-ups a week

The wood trim wasn't there onm 2006 models and it just plain sucks. The good thing is that they are offering a nav system on the 4l one.
And BTW, the fuel tank is 65l, not 50.

Actually - off topic - have come across a Fortuner, 06 model - "0" Kms, but has a manufacturing date of Dec 05...

That means its been lieing about for a year and a month - is that bad for a 4x4 ?? (Specifically the mechanials)??

Lying around isn't bad for any car unless its more than 4-5 yrs. What price is the seller asking? What about the specs?

Thanx TNT -

Its the 4.0L - well im worried about the tires - i dont think the car was jacked up, so im pretty sure those tires are useless.

However the price is tempting at just 97,000AED = and may even go down a bit more. Also has original rear parking sensors ....

What do u think TNT, root and anyone else - worth it? or just spend an extra 5k and get the 07 model?

OR spend 91-93,000AED and pick up a slightly used (11,000kms) 06 version from Automall :?:

I thought you were a student on a budget? :P What about your Civic now? Are you considering any other vehicles?
If the seller comes down to 95k, then its worth it.
The Automall deal sounds a bit pricey. 90k is more than enough for a 06 model with 11k on it. Try looking for private sellers.

hehehe - I am still a student! :D - car is for my dad but i do all the enquiring and running around, i guess in the end i feel its mine and im buying it for "me" :D - but im not :( .... still staying with my trusty civic.. :P

Thanx - for the info. - have tried looking around but its hard to find one... ive come across alot that have been accident cars or again asking too much $$ considering the usage and kms driven.

PS - if anyne is interested, Nissan is getting rid of its 06 model Pathfinders - selling them at a steal for 104,000AED + Free insurance (hence ur getting the car for like 99000AED considering 5000 for insurance)
Full option is somewhere around the 117000AED mark (compared to 135K for 07 models).
Also know that they are offering 0.99% financing on all vehicles for DSF (compared to Toyotas 4.25%)

That 0.99% deal is awesome! I saw an outdoor ad of it once.
104k for the base? (it was 103k when it came out new)
117k for f/o sounds good!
Get a Pathfinder, its better than a Fortuner atleast. And, its got that wicked 291HP engine.
