Best way to polish ur car?

I am still curious about the best aproach in polishing ones car. Here is the my recipe which has uptil now has been done quite well if compared to other polishing techniques....

1. Put ur car through the wash(shampoo all the way)
2. Leave it to dry up
3. Apply the polish in paches 1st, e.g 1 door would be having around 4 patches of solid polish.
4. When the whole car is done Patching, Now rub these patches all over the car with the foam or sponge u applied the polish with. Make sure u are using heavy amount of polish.
5. Leave this all messy looked polish on the car for atleast and hour... untill it is fully dried up.
6. Now with the most softest cloth u can find... start rubbing the whole car.

You would see the magic of this technique.... it produces more shine...

Now i heard that doing the same technique but using a motorized sponge in the end(like the painters use for buffing) gets even better results...

I want to have other people comments on this... wat u guys think??

im not sure if your technique is right.
goto www.detailedimage.com and read their tutorials on how to wash, clay, polish, wax a car.
they have some very useful info from professionals in the field of detailing.

you go to a polishing garage and pay the guy! and then slowly tell him that you will kill him if you see any scratches!
