Where do you buy your motor oil?In order to find the most reliable place I create this topic. I'm very interested, where do most of us buy motor and gear oil, how much does it cost and how good is the oil? About myself: my relatives send me the oil from abroad, the bran is XADO, it's completely unknown for UAE. I usually get 4L 10w60 SL/CF Rally Sport for 140 DHS or 5L 5w40 SM/CF for 150 DHS. What about you?
Yellow Hat in Times Square is one place where you will find all major brands of oil. The prices are competitive as well. Other place is Naif Road in Deira - if you shop around you will get all major brands at a lower price then in Yellow Hat (but if you can take the hassle of going there)
oh, I just thought it was your brand.
So, why Xado? I've heard people talk about Mobil1, Caltex, BP,...but never Xado. When I google I find some engine restoration gels, so I guess these oils are also engine cleaning type ones. Have you compared this with others?
))) I think every oil must be engine cleaning But the thing I like abuot it that the worn-out particles of metal are brought back to the friction surface, so the engine does not wear out. None of the other brands use this tecnology
Hmm..interesting.
Do they do synthetic as well? How do these prices compare with Mobil 1 and others? I'm really bad at oil and service pricing...just normally end up paying without looking at the details.
I've found the range of the oils for you, ( http://www.atomicoil.com/index.php?lang=eng&page=oils ) but I can't say anything about the price exept what I said at the beginning that the 10w60 RALLY SPORT oil costs me about 140 dh.
Re: Where do you buy your motor oil?Mobile 1
I think I change oil for around 100 Dhs.. what I want to ask, when I check my car, I found some oil coming out from the place where you put oil ..I asked and was told that it is ok because I am running in my car fast.. is this true? shall I worry or not!!
Re: Where do you buy your motor oil?If oil is leaking, then there is reason to worry.
Depends on how much oil is leaking. This could depend on not tightly locked cap (or screw underneath). It could also mean some gasket or seal cracks. If a lot of oil is coming out, I would suggest getting it checked. If not much, then you don't need to worry that much. Just keep on checking level regularly.
