New SUV

Hello!

I am looking to buy a brand new SUV for under 70k and wanted your advice on it. I went and looked at the Hyundai Tuscon and they offered me two options:

1) 2.0 L 4 X 2 (1 AB, Power Options, ABS, Alloy Wheels, FL) AED 54,900
2) 2.0 L 4 X4 (1 AB, PO, AW,FL, ABS) AED 61,900

What is the difference between the 4*2 and the 4*4? Also what other vehicles should I look at to fit my budget. I want a decent fuel economy and a decent resale value.

4x2 means 2 wheel drive. Only the front wheels will be supplied with power. 4x4 means all 4 wheels will be used.

Same price range...Suzuki Grand Vitara!
Has a similar resale as the Tucson..not great but not that bad.

Mitsubishi Outlander might be another choice..not really a SUV but a bit like the Tucson again.

I went and checked out the Grand Vitara and it seemed ok. While there saw the Jimny which is like a "jeep for the poor". Any thoughts on those?

I was also told by someone that Hyundais tend to have problems soon after purchase and will spend a lot of time in the shop. Any truth to that?

Is there any rental company that leases Hyundais and Suzukis as rentals where I can test them for a week or two to see how they take to the road?

Hyundais are generally good quality. I know people who have had Santa Fes for a while without any issues. Actually they love the vehicles.

Rentals...none that I know of that do Hyundai or Suzuki. None of the big rental companies atleast.

For Mitsubishi, you have Diamond lease.

Any thoughts on the Jimny? Costs for mainetenance, durability in accidents, fule usage, resale value?
