hey guys....
lots of new cars are now using the HDD NAV MAP...most of them are imported cars
ike my infiniti G37s OR the Lexus LS460L
in order to install a new maps you have use maybe a "Navigation Update Tool"
like Nissan/infiniti CONSULT-I or II or III
am asking if anyone knows a place in dubai or anywhere else that can install GCC maps in my car
am sure there is a place who have these consults or a way to install maps into the HDD
please guys i need your help in this!!!!
and dont tell me to go to the Nissan service cuz they sucks and they dont know how to do it, and i dont think they use HDD based maps YET.

Hey, if its just simple HDD maps, can't you just upload through a USB? Or do you require some license keys?
Have you tried searching on piratebay? There seem to be a lot of map data available for download there. I am not sure if they have GCC though.

i wish it was that easy my friend....connect a USB
but Nissan/Infiniti didnt use this method just to make you go the them just to install a new maps
the thing is....money is not the problem here....the problem is i cant find any shop can do this installation cuz it's complicated and requires tools.
but am sure there is some shops in UAE that have these tools and they can install new maps
CD/DVD time is over my friend....soon all cars will use this method "HDD nased maps" just to make us go to them and pay for new maps.
and thanx for passing by ^_^

if money is no object, why don't you take it to the Nissan dealer? or if you hate most UAE stealerships, then try the Buraimi, Oman dealer. someone once mentioned they are good.

admin: thax for the link that's exactlywht i need but for infinti
but guys it seems you didnt get my point......
in the US LEXUS, INFINITI they dont use CD/DVD anymore for the nav
"http://www.zenrin.com" this is the company who makes nav maps not just for infiniti but for many cars like BMW or BENZ....they have a contract between them.
after you buy the maps you go to the dealer and ask him to install the maps in your HDD
here in GCC they didnt reach that level yet (use HDD in cars) they still use DVD/CD
IN FACT, i sent an e-mail to zenrin asking them about GCC maps they said they didnt create any cuz no GCC dealers asked too!!!!!
so i asked them how come here they offer nav.....they said we didnt create these the dealers must be who created them!!!!!
so my point is....there is no use of going to the dealer cuz i dont think he can offer me anything>>>my car system is diff than his cars/i dont think he have the installation CD/and i think even the navigation tool (CONSULT) he doesnt have it
so am looking for a shop that have this CONSULT so he can install the maps
the CONSULT cost on the net some sites 17000 dollars!!
and some between 4000 - 7000 dollars
so i dont think a person wiil buy that, but maybe a shop or something

saparda, to be honest, I know my way around the shops here when it comes to getting parts and I am 90% (if not 100) sure that you won't find any such 'shop' that does this.

yeah, i doubt too. Workshops won't buy in stuff, if there is not a large demand on this.
If you have time and want to ask around then go to the import car dealers in the Ajman car market - when I was there a few months ago, many dealers had huge lots of Lexus and Infinitis (more Lexus) over there from US. They seem to buy in bulk from auctions.
These guys would have a reason to invest in kits like this to update maps. Its a long shot, but an idea. Worst case you can do window shopping.

I was going to suggest Ajman too in my last post but that market is all about Lexus.

This is great stuff! Are you based in Dubai? Workshop, or a private hobbyist?
I need to get my US stereo fixed so it can tune in other than just odd frequencies.
