Hey guys,
I just got my bike driving license & I want to buy a 2nd hand bike, so the question is:
Which bike should I buy?
I found 2 offers:
1/ CBR250 // 1998 Model // AED3000 // insurance and registration expired
2/ CB1 400cc // 1995 Model // AED 5000 // insurance and registration will expire on 22/10/06
Thank you!!!
Zak

Very tricky question I think.
The CBR 250 is new and cheap but it is weaker and registration, insurance has expired.
The CB1 400 is old and expensive, but the engine is powerful. The insurance and registration will expire soon so you can't count it as an advantage. I would have gone for the 400 because it looks great and engine capacity should be considered most.
Personally, I think that you should go for the one which you think looks better or suits you.
Give respect, get respect.

Hey T.N.T
Thanks for your reply, I'll try CB1 today & CBR250 next couple of days and I'll see.
Since I am a beginner I might go with 250 as it's cheaper and new.
We’ll see.
Thanks!!

Hey ZAk,
Are you getting that bike in Dubai?
In case you dont go for the CB1 let me know I might have a look at it in case I dont go for the Bandit (due to any reasons) which I am presently looking at.
And yes like T.N.T. said see what you are comfortable with.
Regards,
ICE

I would say go for the 400 cc one as you will really got bored on the 250 cc.
If you do plan for a 250 cc, then the CBR 250 is the best around (and actually looks like a bigger bike).
Really speaking you need both to get re-registered soon, so i wont take that as a disadvantage. Look at the condition of the bike and if it works fine, tyres are fine, all lights, indicators, horns work...because if anything is wrong there that is what will cost extra.
5000 is a decent price for the CB1. I saw a CBR 250 in motorcycle city Al Awir 2 days ago for 5500. It was however a newer model.

Hey Zak,
In case you wanna go for a 250 you could check out Motorcycle City in Aweer they have a lady driven CBR 250 RR. It has clocked only 1266 kms not much ridden by the lady, although i must say that it has fallen on the left so the transmission box is scratched. No major breakage on the Fairing. And looks kinda good.
I saw it last Saturday. that is the 9th

Those pics have a huge resolution but unclear.
Nice bike, condition not bad for a decade old model.
Hope you enjoy riding it!

Hey Zak your bike does look neat. Hope the engine delivers the same.
About the CB1: I did have a look at the bike and infact I had take a friend along who also loves bike and has ridden a few the engine seems to be good however the biek has fallen a couple of times so have dents on the tank each side and a bit of scratches on the exhaust and the transmission box.
Am taking it to the Garage along with the guy to have it checked before giving a final confirmation to him. Let see how much would the cost come in to get those things fixed.
