Get a car license and get a 2nd hand Lancer or Sunny for that money.

The traffic here is too dangerous for having a motorbike as a daily ride to work between Dubai and Sharjah.

you should be able to get a decent sports or cruiser bike for that budget.
Search on this site..you'll see quite a few ads..most japanese bikes are pretty reliable.

You could get a new 400 or even a 600cc Suzuki in your price range.

I would suggest to look for a good condition Honda 600 CBR RR if you know how to ride a bike. This bike is fast, reliable and you'll have no problems selling it afterwards.

Both are great bikes. Personally, I would've gone for the Fazer because I don't normally buy bikes that are 1000cc or above. Takes the fun out of riding, just real fast in a straight line. But hey, that's just me, everyone's opinion differs. Both are nice bikes, go for the one which you think looks better :P

How much do these cost new?
Do they fit your budget?

Remember to add in insurance costs in your calculations.

if you are new to biking, get a 2nd hand 400cc or a cheap 600cc, hone your skills on them and then move upto a new bike...buyin a brand new bike and then crashing it hurts a lot more than crashing a 2nd hand cheap bike...and bikers are sure to crash!
if you will be using it solely for travelling to work get a ride thats not too fast but more on the comfortable side, a cruiser should be the best option or if you are too keen on gettin a sportsbike, go for a sports-touring bike, something like a FZ6 or maybe the bmw bike...sports bikes look cool, but ridin them everymornin, crouchin on the tank can surely mess up your back...the sports touring ones have a better seating position and are genrally higher, enabling you to see ahead in traffic and are more manouverable too...
think about which bike you buy,get something you like and suits your personality...as its going to be staying with you for quite sometime...

also, in your budget, add the costs of getting proper riding gear, helmet and insurance costs...

Congratulations on your ride! Must be fun riding that baby when everyone else is stuck in traffic! Just be careful as many idiots are on the streets with no respect for those on 2-wheels.

Answering your first question, have you been to the Yamaha showroom on SZR? They should be your best bet on getting all that gear you want. If you can't find it there, I would not know where. The shops in Diera are really for export market and low-end stuff. You'll find some stickers, spare parts, but they also are of the lower-quality in my opinion.

Second question...Motorcycle City is a small shop that sells second hand bikes. It's in Al-Awir on Al-Khail Road. If you drive from Jebel-Ali towards Dubai/Sharjah it's on the right hand side.

There are hundreds of car repair shops, etc in that area, so you can't really miss that area. Motorcycle City is there in the middle block after the first round of showrooms.

There are actually a couple of other motorbike shops in that area as well. One is just next to Motorcyle city and carries Ducatis (some nice eye candy).
