Well motorcycle course is comparitively shorter than a car.

There are basically two aspects that the trainer will train you on if you prior riding experience

1. They will train you on making the figure 8
2. Your road skills.

If you have absolutely no riding experience then the number of classes are also about 20 and they will teach from scratch.

Comparitively its faster to get a motorcycle license than car license.

It depends whether if you have a car license, if yes then you dont have to go for Signal test. Its lot easier to get one and will not cost you more than 1000 AED (I got one for 600 AED and after 6 lessons in 1st shot) Best of luck

I learnt it from Belhasa, they have one Pakistani Guy who is very patient and teaches well, the other guy is very bad mouthed and impatient. I used to ride back home almost 4 years ago so you can say I lost touch.

helmet

I would suggest that you buy a helmet of your own!
Otherwise, you'll need to share the sweaty ones used by 100's of students before you (including me at some occasions ;)).

Go to Diera near Nasr Square. Many shops there.
Prices I think start from around AED 30 and go on to over a 1000 for the coolest ones.

Other alternatives are to go to Satwa. One in Dune center and other near the roundabout on Diyafah street. There might be more motorbike shops there. Slightly more expensive.

Well, I said they start at around 30 AED...I did not say that you should buy one of those ;)

I picked up a cheap one from there and it looks pretty solid and has broken yet..the style is not that cool though, but its my second helmet.

You can get one of those Index helmets from Thailand, similar to the ones they have at Belhasa starting at around 50-60 AED. The nicer ones are around 150. You have the Italian ones at 400-500.

alright thanks, i'd like to find out abt the driving schedules first and then give it a go. this is probably the best time to learn, as after a few months later it gets really hot outdoors.
