Merc SL560 1980's

I big part of me wants to get one of these as just a hobby car to cruise with now and then, I just love the look and classic style. If anyone has any experience with these cars, their maintenance, things to look out for I would love to hear their advice/comments.

1980s...thats classified as vintage now as its over 20 years old :)

You better know about cars and what you're buying, or have a hobby to play around fixing cars. First challenge is to find a good/well-kept one here in UAE, and secondly is to find the spares to keep it up and running. You'll probably have to source your parts from Europe or US, so make sure there are enough around to even find good second-hand spares.

An expensive mistress to have...but if you love em, go for it!

(I've done my vintage desire fulfillment once - ended up having to abandon the vehicle as at the end I was unable to get it running satisfactorily and the parts were just not available!)
