Hey sud77! Welcome to the forums!

Both Touareg and Q7 are nice ones! Q7 is a 7-seater, so if you need one of those, the decision will be simpler :)

I doubt you'll get a LX570 in your budget. LX470 is not imported here by purpose as there is a Land Cruiser with same power specs, and they dont want one cannibalizing sales of the other.

Resale wise, Q7 drops fast! Touareg has a slightly better resale, because its normally a bit cheaper. Higher the price, the steeper the fall.

If you want to maintain resale, go with the Land Cruiser. You might want to check out the new Nissan Patrol...starts at 185k. The verdict is still not out on this vehicle, but the older Patrols were extremely popular here and had superb resale.

If I was in your shoes with a 180k budget, I would try to get a distress sales Porsche Cayenne S, followed by the Touareg V8 or a Q7 4.2 v8 (for me they are both very similar).

Hi Thanks a lot for u r response
u made it very easy and good to see a genuine comment
i kn Lx will not come in that range,I can increase the budgent for 570... only for 570..:)
i had missed one form oman for 230K
i will try out Porsche S too.... but what do u feel abt the fuel consumption? Resale is good enough i feel..Do i get a 2008-09 model in 180 range? is it v8?

Well, V8's love 98 octane like Irishmen love Guinness!
But fuel is relatively cheap here, and if there is anywhere in the world where you can still afford a v8 its probably within this region.

Cayenne S, 2008-9 I believe you may get in 180k range if you look around. There is a new shape for 2010, so the old ones have depreciated a bit faster.

Why the love for the LX? Its just a pimped up Land Cruiser :) (*flame war started* :) )

if new shape for 2010 cayenne, then no point i feel ..to block 180K
Why LX 570, Mainly coz its comfort...its really feels like floating....
Plus i have driven one offroad... oh its awesome...
And above all its Toyota... New model too..

Can you wait for a few months? The new Touareg should be here in early 2011 - and I hear it way better than the current one

If you are prepared to wait, you may be able to get the old model at a bargain when the new model comes in!

I was in your situation before 3 month and I ended up getting Audi Q7 2010 for 237K >>http://www.autodealer.ae/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4079

but I suggest you to get the Land Cruiser 2010 GXR or as your saying if you can increase ur budget for LX570 then stop looking around and go get it :) its Lexuss buddyy

i dont recommend you the VW touareg, >>>bad experince with VW ended up selling my VW Passat 2004 for 13k xD
even a friend of mine got touareg, and hes not happy with it

and btw check the new ford raptor svt
the one will be released here in UAE is the 6.2 version and its 215k
they told me that they will release it this month or the next, and im getting one soon :)
or you can order one from USA with the same spec for 175k with shipping and etc...but im not sure whether is US spec is good and can work here good enough or not :/

go for wat ur heart says man.... odawise ull curse the machine... and after some time will find ways to pin point faults in it... rather than sitting in a new car and starring at somebody else's ride...buy wat ur heart says... delay the task if u havnt got enuf budget.
