sud77.. was in similar position, been thru the research and narrowed down to two preferences fx32 and touareg. (x5 was also on this list but the pricing a trifle tooi steep for me!) can see youhave the fx32, whats your exp with it? had a test drive on the 2010 model, wasnt impressed..

have only heard good things abt touareg, but can see some neg abt it in forum here, any specifics? test drove the r-line twice (keen on the sports shape) and am 95% sold on it, infact planning to get it this weekend...

so if anybody has anything to say, say it now, or forever hold your silence.. ;)

2 reasons from my side against the touareg
expensive service/maintenance costs
very poor resale
what about the reliability? ive never owned one so cant comment on that.

and what is the fx32? did you mean the infiniti fx35?

Hey! I stand in defense of the touareg! It's a great all-round SUV!

Maintenance is high, but its not that often as for the Toyotas and other Japanese makes, so its not bad if you think of it that way.

Reliability is great..its now in its 4th or 5th generation, and the its just improved. The Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne are built on this same platform.

Resale..yes, its not as good as the Japanese. But compared to other European makes it fares fairly well. A new v6 Touareg you can get for 150k and as its lower priced than the X5, Q7, ML/GL Mercs the actual percentage fall is much less.

The drive for the Touareg is brilliant - it does not feel like driving a big SUV. The road grip and handing is superb.

do you want to differenetiate between the v6 and the v8? or just gx vs vx?
open to hood to see which engine it got.
as for gx vs vx, dont vx models come with navi backup came etc?

i got info earlier that VXR comes with Navi and hyd suspension.... some people still says there is no option... for me hyd suspension matters as i love that comfort... have seen few 570s in SHJ and 2 LCs ... good deals for both coz of recession...
