the debate of 350z vs s2000 still continues on many many forums. just do a google search.
the s2000 is a bit low on torque but IMO handles amazingly well. the 350z got more grunt but its handling is good but not as good as the s2000
if your looking to mod, with the right bodykit and wheels the 350z can be made to look stunning.
in the end, it all comes down to what you like. test drive both, since your friend got a s2000 drive that too. whatever you choose will be good as both are very good cars.

I think servicing the S2000 is harder here. Its not something that Honda brings in without special orders.
The 350z is a lot more common, and easier to find mods/kits for.
Looks wise, the Z looks nicer to me. Specially the convertible (only if it had some rear seats).

oooo.... 2 very nice cars! I absolutely adore the s2K. Had the pleasure of driving one recently, and boy - oh boy- it was fantastic! You probably need to keep in mind that the 350z will be an Automatic gearbox vs the S2K's manual. There are very few manual 350z's that are GCC spec. Also, you need to do some research into model & price. Older s2k's (pre-2003) are very different to the newer ones. Also, s2k's in good condition can demand higher prices. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

finding a manual 350z will be very very hard. but then again finding a s2000 wont be easy either. good luck. be sure to get the car checked out completely before buying and be extra careful about imported cars

accident history and flood damage for usa imports. you could get a carfax report and also get it checked by the dealer or some other reputable workshop.

yeah, dont buy a US import without a carfax report! Too many lemons being offloaded into Middle-East market by dealers.
