cadillac escalade

Postby balajiv1979 on Mon Dec 28, 2009 11:09 am

Hi All,

I am interested in buying a large SUV to seat 7 people. Zeroed in on the cadillac escalade the dealer has quoted around 250 k and I may get further 5k to 6k off when I am finalising with 4 years service free.

Just apprehensive on this choice not sure I have made the right one don't see many of them on the roads of Dubai

Further not much of an offroader. I am aware of the Tahoe , GMC yukon & escalade connection.

But have a question is paying more worth it or Am I better off going for the fully loaded version of Tahoe or the GMC Yukon Denali Again the dealer service also plays a role.

Owning a honda second time and the service is reasonably good & hence require that peace of mind factor as well.

Any better choices /suggestions & some points I need to look out for before buying it. Kindly let me know

thanks & rgds

Escalade is a good choice but don't expect it to bash dunes.
A Yukon Denali is a much cheaper alternative while a Land Cruiser VXR is a slightly pricier option.

The Escalade drops in price fast...as you notice not that many buyers!
But its a super luxurious SUV - I think the US presidents normally have these! So, if you are going to keep for a few years then think about it. If you have shorter time horizon, you will lose a lot on resale. Just search on this website and you'll get an idea of the price drops.

250k can get you a lot of options! As you are looking for a 7-seater, your choices are Audi Q7, Toyota Land Cruiser, Infiniti QX and the ones you already mentioned.

If you are looking at an Escalade, also look at the 2nd hand market, and maybe you can find some distressed seller selling a 2009. You'll get a good bargain.

Thanks I have a crossover now & despite the proweresss of Audi Q7 not too much impressed by the shape

Landcruiser seems very common every other person has it but it is an excellent vehicle so is the lexus version.

I did consider infiniti Qx but it might be discontinued with the new patrol 2010 shape taking its place and it does not look so different from the Armada.

Not interested in used car either as i Intend to have the new one for 5 to 7 years. Hope this one will last , normally get bored with a car in 3 years.

Then go with the Escalade! I think you get 4-5 years warranty/service package these days as well, so you should be not get any major repair costs.

Make sure you get those rap stars pimped up rims with em :)
