hi guys...i need ur advice on the new VW scirocco
my friend is looking forward 2 purchase dis car...n the price he is gettin is 119,000(special ramdan offer) which includes 3yr/60,000km free servicing, 1st yr insurance n 3yrs warranty

what i have heard is...that the resale on VW isnt really good
and the spare parts are expensive n so is the maintainance...

I test drove the Scirocco and was not that impressed! Hard-ish drive, and not as sporty as I thought it would be.

VW does not have good resale here, unless you have a Touareg. GTI is ok due to some strong followings, but still not great.

Maintenance at Al-Naboodah is an arm and a leg! No doubt about that, so if you get 3 years free service it is worth something.

But at 119k, there are a lot others one can buy!

its just a golf gti under the skin. get a mark V gti, stage 2 turbo upgrade and your all set

dont trust what you read online, take a test drive for yourself and find out.
there are many tuning shops in dubai, i think MTM is one of them. they can do a ecu flash or put in bigger turbos etc.
any mods are considered illegal but that dosent seem to stop anyone here lol

i suggested him a Lacer Ex...cuz he wants a small car which is quick n less fuel consuming

n modify it completely...

I had MKV GTI and loved every minute of driving it...as someone said reflash the ECU for 2200-2500 and you will have enough power from 200 to 235hp....actually 119 is with the package and base price should be around hen 105-110 if he has to pay for service and insurance.

Ask him to take a trst drive of this and new GTI as well thats with same features like damper settings but improved engine..

I sold mine with 20% depreciation after 10 months but had put 55000 kms as well so i guess not such a big issue for me. you are loosig some on resale which will be after 2-3 years but he will enjoy those years of driving this machine.

Lancer is NOOOOO WAYYYYY close to this
