Hi guys, i am on verge of buying cayenne turbo, although there are few minor issues like drive shaft and brake pads but seller will sort that out before delivery including inside out VAX.
its an import so obviously no warranty/service history. i will get it fully checked by professional.
I've done detailed search about 06 turbo and they are very reliable unlike 03-04 model, but still i need to do following and need your advice please.
a) is there anywhere i can buy bumper to bumper warranty? b) is shamil testing enough or is there any special garage for cayenne who can do pre-purchase testing. c) if i buy UAE nav cd/dvd from stealer, would that be enough or is PCM locked etc?
Thanks in advance

There is a workshop/tuner for Porsche called ARM that will do the checkup. I also think House of Cars also does that. Warranty, I am not really sure about! I would get the Turbo checked up from a Porsche workshop. It is the top-end of Porsche and an expensive machine. I do not think Shamil is enough. You want to get the engine checked, the turbo checked, and all the 'common' problems these cars might have - and only someone who know these models well will be able to know these. PCM lock. No idea, but I am sure you can buy it off the stealer. With mats costing AED 500, it'll not come for free

Shamil did great testing when i bought Range Rover a year ago...every single component at the time of selling, this buyer took it to AAA in Rashidya and personally i am not impressed at all, they dint do sh**, guy who was checking dint even know the headlamps switch and other things...i was surprised. Cayannee...Yeah i think main dealer would be the best, but trust me Shamil in Awir is also very good Ive checked, test drove it and seems all good but still ..... how do i go about finding after market warranty? i really need it, dont like surprises !! I dont think NAV dvd would cost 500, last time i checked Chrysler and it was 3,000/ yeah 3,000 (what's bittorent for please guyz i need your input on above issues, Thanks

root actually the mats cost more than 500 at porsche, just a small 3x3 inch leather pouch to store your keys cost 500 yes please get a full checkup done, though i doubt how good the dealer will be. umm did you say drive shaft is a minor issue? as for the dvd it will be quite expensive and no you cannot download maps and burn a dvd, if it were that simple everybody would be doing it, though i have read very few ppl have managed to get it to work in some cars

only Porsche will be able to offer warranty! and I doubt they'll offer you this for a US-import already out of warranty.

no you cannot buy from Porche, you can buy extended warranty before your 3yrs warranty runs out + if its only maintained by Porche throughout its history.
I am finding something like dealers in Awir offer ... you pay 1000 extra to get a year warranty ...

but how good is that warranty?
1000 AED seems like a drop in the bucket, if the warranty is any good.
