Hey guys, First of all great website... keep it up!
Second... well I really got interested in the mitsubishi magna... unfortunately not many reviews about it here in UAE, and not very abundant on the road... I understand torque steer is a problem but how is the car in overall performance and fuel company (for a 3.5L that is...)?
Also how are the spare parts prices in local garages (heard the brakes are too expensive for a japanese car... around 800AED?!?!)
One more question, I found a 93 lexus, ls400. its pretty cool, but Im worried about the whole registration renewal contract. I heard many ppl say yes it got cancelled, but others saying its going to be reintroduced, thoughts?
Thanks,

The Magna is an O-K car, you'll get one pretty cheap too. I advise you to stay away though, hardly anyone will want to buy it from you once you think of selling it, which is the reason you'll find one for cheap. Fuel economy won't be great but will be in the league of any other V6 mid-size sedan. If you want the Lexus, go for it. It is pretty sought after and even if the rules come back into place, you can easily sell it in other GCC countries or to someone here itself who wants to take it abroad or whatever. Keep posting any other queries you have!

TNT is pretty spot on (as usual).
I'd just add, you may want to consider getting something slightly newer than a 93 model if you go for Lexus. Depends a bit on your budget, of course.
The old car ban rule is from all I hear indefinitely postponed. If the economy starts booming again, who knows it might be re-introduced.

Thanks guys,
Well the thing is the magna met my criteria (3.5L, year 2005, price 25000) not many cars with those pros ya know?
For the resale price, well havent really thought about that, I am more of buy something and stick to it rather than buy and sell and buy... true its going to get old someday but I am more of a keeper...
Still searching for other cars with those 3 criterias (engine 3.0 or above, 25000 AED and model year above 2000)
Will let u know when I finally decide!

If you're planning to keep for a while, then you should be OK.
Engine size are not always equal. Some engines are more effective and generate more power and torque than others.

Not very friendly with the American cars... Prefer japanese cars, dont have to worry about maintenance as much (especially price wise )

In general you won't get that many in your criteria of 25k/2005+/3.0L+

I think Mitsubishi magna is good choice to buy . It overall performance is ok and the fuel economy is pretty good too. It is comfortable, reliable, cheap to service as well as it's interior and exterior looks good.
