6-7 year old Range Rovers?

Postby root on Tue Jan 06, 2009 10:49 pm

Hi,
Can anyone shed any light or experience with how old Range Rovers from say 2001-2003 are as second hand cars?

The price fall is huge (to say the least), so it's an attractive buy. But will one end up spending a lot on repairs or are these cars built to last?

Also how good is that air-suspension system? I am always cynical towards all the high-tech gimmicks that they can be a real pain once they stop working.

Most people replace the air suspension with steel springs as the susp tends to give out pretty soon. Apart from that, it is a great buy!

What about the engine leaks, gasket, radiators?

The Land Rovers are known with the above symptoms, so I am wondering if the premium Range Rovers also suffer something similar?

I think you should get one and worry about all that later. Doesn't happen to everyone, hasn't happened to a 2002 owner I know.

Yeah, it is tempting to get one.
