I heard that the Japanese car dealers were saying they will raise the prices 2009 due to Yen appreciation. What does GM/Chevrolet have as reasons?

Maybe they have no inventory, so they can raise the prices and still hope to sell the little stock they hold.

It's when the inventory is huge that they start giving discounts, as that is just cash lying in the warehouse.

But I am sure you can get good second hand deals at the moment!
Gargash has a special running on all used Mercs that ends today. Prices are pretty significantly marked down on used cars.

the e280 is 2008 model is available for 190k and 210k for the 2009 and salesguy hinted that merc would offer even more discount if you really bargain.

the ml350 is 220-230k sticker price and there too discount avail depending on your negotiation skills.

im sure the dealer will reduce it further below 190k, they seem to have more than enough in stock.
