You've always been interested in the lesser known marques, atleast that's what I've noticed. Alfa, Seat, Opel etc.
I know mainstream is boring but there is a reason everyone goes mainstream (Corolla/Civic)
Anyway, I don't know anyone who owns a Seat so I think I can't say anything in this situation.

^ its just a coincidence, i found a bargain, i just dont want to miss it.. As a seat the resale value is poor & im getting it for a great price with FSH, lady driven.. My concern is how expensive parts can be, i assume i can manage interchanging VW, skoda bits on a seat.. Mainstream models have a high resale value & my budget is a college student budget...

Remember that if a car has poor resale, you'll be getting it cheap and selling it for cheap too.
Give me more details on the whole thing, I won't steal your sale :)

Selling 4 AED 8K, 122K km, FSH, manual, Lady driven, agency maintained.
Digital A/C, sunroof, alloys, 1.4 engine (dont know if its the 16v model which is much more powerful).

I checked the car & drove it real smooth engine & gearbox BUT! the reasons for selling it with such a price:
- Crack in front windshield
- 4 power windows dont work, unsure if its a blown fuse
- Paint on roof has fading spots, so will need a repaint..

So im not yet confident if its a good deal

Ok. Seat is really a VW, but made in Spain. Many of the parts are the same as other VW models (I think Ibiza shares its platform with the VW Polo, though it might look like a Golf).
The dealer is Bin Dhaher, and you can get many old VW spare parts to work on them.

Having said the above, do you really want a 1.4 liter engine car with a small weak body. One unfortunate bumper hitting you on a round about can spin this car over.

The price is enticing I must say. How old is the car? If you can use it for a couple of years, then even selling it for scrap is a good deal.

Otherwise, if I would go for an oldie type car, I would atleast look for some 'cult' appeal..something you can play around with and pimp up without spending too much.

^ its '02 model... im tempted cuz its cheap & i could keep it on the long term without having a hard time with the new registration laws & throw it away without any hesitation... Reason why im buying a small manual car is because i would like to occasionally use it in Autodrome's redline challenge, many use ibizas & they're praised for their decent handling... I already tracked an Opel Astra (Automatic, unfortunately) & my current fiat barchetta... Bottom line im not into pimping & posing on the streets i feel its kinda a waste of money, no offense for those who like to...

If its for track racing go for it! Cant get anything cheaper than that in my experience. Plus its manual, so more fun on the track.
