RAV4 2007

Postby T.N.T on Wed Dec 06, 2006 4:15 pm

Once again, its my turn to ask a question. This one's for a friend.
3 months old RAV4, 2007 model. The seller bought it for 96,500 and it cost him approx 99,000 because he got V-Kool, MaxGuard and rustproofed it. Everything done by Al-Futtaim. Its the top of the range model but just lacks leather. Its got a sunroof, cruise control, parking sensors, ABS, 8 airbags and ambient lighting. Its in a pretty good condition. Exceptionally clean and it was his dream car. You can tell that because he bought such a high-end model and has kept such good care of it. He's selling it because he got a job transfer to Switzerland.
Here's the bottomline, he's asking 91k for it. Worth it? I don't think so but asking you guys will give me a better idea.

Hell, get it for yourself! The Rav4 is a fun jeep to throw around, especially if its the 2-door. I had a friends 2001 Rav4 for a week and throughly enjoyed driving it around town (eventhough it was auto). Offer him a lower price than 91 because you can't cound the extra 3k he put in for the options .... if your friend sells the car even in another 6 months the 96k price will be considered as the start-point ...

Thanks for the reply man. I think you are right. My friend offered him 87k and he says he will never sell lower than 90k.
What about this one:
Nissan X-Trail, 2005, beige, 6 CD Changer, Auto A/C. In other words, all the goodies except leather, sunroof and cruise control. Its done 45k kms and the owner has purchased a service contract until 60k kms. Its got FSH on it. Asking price: 58k. Worth it?

Hmmm, better you check the price as Im not sure what the 2005's street value is. Regarding the X-trail, its probably the best jeep in its class, and even better than the Surf when you're off road. Plenty of space in the cabin, very good ride quality (limited slip diff, etc), power, and everything you can wish for. The warrenty is more attractive than the sun roof :)

I agree about the off-roading part as it certainly is quite powerful. 180HP is good for 2.5l.

the Xtrail sounds like a fantastic deal. You could even bargain him down a few K. If I had the cash I would go for it 8)

He advertised an asking price of 62k, so there's no way he's going down. Anyway, my friend bought it! :D
