Postby jobinesh on Sun Nov 26, 2006 6:51 pm

Dear All
1. I would like to buy used Chevrolet Optra with hatchback. Is this decision wrong ? I like the sahpe of this vehicle.

2. Also plans to sell it off after a couple of years. Can anybode advise me on the same?

3. How about the vehicle KIA-Cerato?

4. What are all the points to be noticed while going for used cars?

I think you'll be better off in a Cerato than an Optra in terms of satisfaction. Strong engine, cheap service and a better interior.
I guess you should change your decision and look for some Japanese cars because it will be good for you in the long run. Although if you are going bonkers over the looks, find a used one and buy it.

Its between the KIA:

and the CHEVY:

Both suck at resale, which is my way to say that if you a buy a new one they will go down 20-25% during the first year. In 2 years, you are looking at around 40%.

But if you are going for 2 years old, then you'll get a pretty ok bargain.

I kinda like the Chevy, but as TNT was saying you might be getting better specs for your money with the KIA. I believe both are built in Korea.

Service wise, I dont think there is much of a difference.

If you are going Korean, also take a look at Hyundai. They are the toyota of the koreans.
