why?

I ask why, because you oughta have a reason to go for a wrangler ;)

To me, the reason can be a life-style statement or a cheap 4x4 with a large engine.

Comfort wise this is not the best vehicle to get.
Summer heat wise, think about the soft-tops. You can find hard-tops (I think made of carbon fiber) which are better, but there is the heat factor.

But, they are cheap to buy and run, are sturdy off-road (but you need to know how to off-road with it as many end up toppling it easily). The engine is big but probably not as powerful as the litre size should be, but still powerful enough.

I was looking once into getting one for a weekend off-road vehicle as I do not want to ruin my other 4x4.

Wrangler is a gr8 ride!! Safer than any other jeep on the road; especially on roll overs!! yet when u get one u may face one of these minor problems; based on what i know from 2 persons who own a Wrangler and my dad drives a Grand Cherokee..

1. A/c leaking water into the cabin; 4+ year old Jeeps
2. Transmission seals may leak oil; 4+ year old Jeeps
3. Brake leaks; on 7+ year old Jeeps
4. Electrical Hiccups..; all the time
5. Radiator, Coolant Leaks; on 4+ year old Jeeps
6. Gas tanks Rusting; causes petrol 2 evaporate; on 4+ year old Jeeps

Bcareful im not tryin 2 give u a reason 2 hate Jeeps; all these problems can be fixed at a cheap cost; anywhere... I also recommend that u rust proof it when u 1st get one.
