Greetings: I have seen some discussion going on here about the CX-9 and since I am considering buying one, I would very much appreciate any feedback about the car and the dealer (I am a little concerned about the dealer) Would there be any other car in the same category that are in the same price range with the same equipment (I was quoted 128K for the GTX, shipment should be in early September)? I am married, not a father, I hardly go off road, mostly urban, however, I like travelling Thanks in advance

Looks nice! Selling fairly well here. You get a lot for the money..leather seats, nice sound system, 3 rows. Galadari (the dealer) is not the best from what many say..no personal experience.
In same price range, look at Toyota Fortuner or Nissan Pathfinder. Both are also popular vehicles.Toyota Prado is another candidate.

Also just remembered reading somewhere that the 2007 or 2008 CX-9 had some wheel alignment or steering drift issues in the USA, and they had to recall or fix them. Since the CX-9 came here just in 2008 I don't know if anyone has had this problem here or not.

Isn't the Outlander a bit smallish? Its a step down..maybe the Nativa is an option...not that popular though.

For cross-overs, you should check out the Nissan Murano, VW Touareg. There's the Ford Edge, but you're better off with the Mazda, as they both are based on the same platform, but the Mazda has a better 3.7 Mazda engine and much better reviews.

The Nissan Murano can be an option , any idea how much does it cost and if the new shape is in ? I like the VW Touareg although significantlly more expensive (i was quoted 180k for the top end V6 let aside the V8) i would prefer to stay away from American cars , if lease was an option in Duabi , i would not have minded one though I totally agree about the comparison between the Edge and CX-9 , the CX-9 is much better

Murano was around 130k before, but there is a new shape due this year, so I'll hold off. However, prices are being jacked up for all vehicles these days. Lets hope the US Dollar keeps on its recovery against other currencies. However, for the Nissan I doubt it matters as most of the imports come from US. Not sure about the Murano though, it might be coming from Japan. Yepp..stay away from American cars Touareg at 180K...I guess that what it costs once you get in all the options you want. I started at around 150k. You might want to wait until Ramadhan and see if any good deals come through. Last year, VW were giving free service packages during Ramadhan.

Murano is around 135k; new shape is not due to Feb 09 I doubt that all cars come from the US, I remember the Mazda dealer telling me that they come from Japan, and so I would assume this is the case with most Japanese cars. So far, I don’t see any other car that offers the same value for the money as the CX-9, any other suggestions? Touareg remains a possibility; however I am concerned about the cost of service for the VW I would take you advice about waiting for Ramadan; I am not in a rush anyways Thanks root
