Du is supposedly having a lot of trouble getting their network up and running.
They are not exactly the brightest group of people....If anyone has ever used TECOM / Dubai Internet City or Sahm services before you will know what I mean as its the same crowd. Took them 2 years to get bills working properly. Customer care sucked even more than Etisalat.
Probably should shut up before they block this website on their proxy

I just booked to see how it will be. If I like it, I might even stop using Etisalat. The billing will be on a per-second basis and rates are 'expected' to be lower. I even get a number of my choice.

Ive been using mine since the time thy launched.
My money lasts alot longer cuse of the per second billing, but they have problems....
People call me later and say my phone was off, or they get some weird messages.... but my phone is on.
Even in my house i have to talk standing near a window to get recption.
I guess in time they will get better...

No wonder Etisalat has all these ads on 'coverage anywhere in the UAE' these days!
Per second billing probably makes it cheaper than sending SMSes.
So do you carry 2 phones or just DU?

Well the idea was always to have 2 numbers and i guess two phones.
I wanted to keep my etisalat number, but at the same time i wanted a number that was private for just friends and family.
After using my etisalat number now for around 5 years, it kinda gets-around, if u know what i mean. I get alot of useless sms's, banks calling, and other salesman..... very annoying
I started out with just carrying my Du around, but then people were complaining that im trying to avoid them..... cough girlfirend cough cough.... err.... couldnt just blame it on Du. So now i carry 2 cells with me
The inital offering from Du says u dont have to renew for 3 years, so im not spending extra for keeping 2 lines either.

I really wish there were some decent phones that could take 2 SIMs and have them active at the same time.
Saw this one called Trend http://www.trendmobiles.co.uk/t500.html
Did not look that trendy to carry along

well, the one good thing about DU that I can say is that Etisalat has become noticeably better due to them coming in the market.
My Etisalat reception used to be rubbish before. Complained many times, but they ignored until the competition was coming.
I wish we see more competition on the Internet, DSL, Broadband side.
We are living in 2007. We should have 100 Mbps to our homes for 99 AED per month.
