There’s really not much else that you can ask for from the new Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG as it already boasts a high level of efficiency, performance, exclusivity and an outstanding driving experience. The high-performance SUV has 28% better fuel economy than its predecessor with 11.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined, 276 g CO2/km). The low fuel consumption and top-class performance are made possible with the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine that has a maximum power output of 386 kW (525 hp) and a peak torque of 700 newton metres. This results to an extra 11 kW (15 hp) and 70 newton metres. The AMG Performance package, which is available as an option, improves the power output of the V8 engine to 410 kW (557 hp) and its maximum torque to 760 newton metres.

The AMG RIDE CONTROL has a suspension with the recently developed ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM for active roll stabilization. The AMG-specific design and the wide scope of standard equipment and appointments result to a very enticing overall package. The new ML 63 AMG is getting an amazing technology package, which includes the AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine that has spray-guided direct petrol injection with piezo injectors, ECO start/stop system, an all-aluminum crankcase, four valves per cylinder with camshaft adjustment, air-water intercooling and alternator management.

The eight-cylinder engine has a displacement of 5461 cc, allowing it to produce a maximum power output of 386 kW (525 hp) and 700 newton metres of torque. When combined with the AMG Performance package, these values increase to 410 kW (557 hp) and 760 newton metres. The variation in power and torque comes from a rise in the maximum charge pressure from 1.0 to 1.3 bar. The two variants of the ML 63 AMG offer a sports-car performance. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and 4.7 seconds respectively. Meanwhile, it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The NEDC fuel consumption figure of 11.8 litres per 100 kilometres (276 g CO2/km) stays the same with or without the AMG Performance package. The launch of the new Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG will be in April 2012. The ML 63 AMG has a price tag of €108,885 (including a 19% VAT). The AMG Performance package is priced at €7021.
