Reports surfaced that Audi is planning a facelift for its R8 supercar, supported by a number of sightings this year. The R8 facelift is expected to sport some improvements over the original R8. The current R8 is fitted with R tronic sequential manual gearbox and a V-8 engine with around 525 horsepower. The second generation R8 may don an S tronic dual clutch gearbox and a V-10 engine with around 540 horsepower. The R8 facelift may also be lighter than the original model. With this development, we could see the second-generation R8 out in showrooms late next year and branded as a 2013 model.
