It appears that the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is ready to hit the showrooms as some fans scooped the vehicle at a test event at the Paul Richard Circuit, in France. Although we have no official details, Jalopnik says that the vehicle is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 AMG engine delivering around 510 hp and 640 Nm of torque and comes with LSD as standard, a MCT gearbox, four sport buckets (for the first time on a Black Series), an optional big rear spoiler as well as more track focused features.
Sources say that the vehicle will go on sale in mid November (will be priced under 100,000 euros), which means that the global debut will be made in September at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Regarding the “standard” C63 AMG Coupe, the vehicle comes with the same 6.3-liter V8 engine delivering 457 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm), mated to the same AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed automatic gearbox. With these numbers, the car can sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds and to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
With the AMG Power Pacakge, the total output is raised at 487 hp and the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) drops to 4.4 seconds. The C63 AMG Black Series is also lighter and more powerful, which means it will be capable to hit 62 mph or 100 km/h in around 4.2 seconds and will definitely have a top speed in excess of 186 mph or 300 km/h. More details to be revealed!
