I had a thing for the R8 before it was launched but after looking at the prices vs. performance, it just makes more sense to buy something else.

ive seen quite a few R8's on the streets. atleast 3-4 in AUH. another 3-4 in Dxb in the last 3 weeks. i can think of a couple of other cars id buy for that kind of money!!!

Well, for first Audi and Lamborghini are both owned by VW.
The R8 uses the same platform as the Gallardo. Front suspension is similar.
The reason I said it, is the rear-mounted engine and the feel of the car is very much of the Lambos or Ferraris....and then Lambos today have a bunch of Audi/VW technology as well.
