Body restoration 4 a CamaroHeres da story.. a 1987 camaro V8... brought 4 3000dhs in "old" condition.. Looking 4 a garage that can rebuild the whole car's body n chassis...like new; clean up from rust, dents n repaint.. much help appreciated...
40k??Thats a lot of money!
For around 5-8k you can get a good engine put in. Another 8k for body works. About 4-5k for carbon fiber styling. Paint 3-4k. Interior 5-6k. New nice wheels for 6-8k. And then put in a kick ass music system for the rest
not done itNo, I've not done it yet. I've thought about it, but then it seems like a lot of work and time which I dont have.
I've a friend who sometimes buys old american cars and re-does them in his garage and then sells them for a profit. Again I dont think he makes enough for the amount of work put in. If I was to put 40k in the car, I would then expect to atleast sell it for 60-80k. I doubt that its good money spent on a Camaro (does not really have the vintage value). Even after restoration, if you try to sell it you'll not get your money back...this is my view, and I might be wrong, so do discuss with others as well. Many garages will re-build the car for you. If you go to Al-Awir, Rashidiya, Qusais, Sharjah you will find several garages that will take this job on. I've spoken to several garage owners and all have done some restoration work at some time in their career. However, have no personal experience. I would think that you should try to find a workshop that also keeps spare parts or second hand parts of Camaros. Thats always a good start as you'll get your replacements easier/cheaper that way.
da good news is dat this camaro is staying with us.... my uncle already restored 2 other cars back in Syria.. a army green '76 toyota carina and a dark gray '89 bmw 325i. When u look @ em theyre perfectly like new.. This is his 1st american car hes gonna restore n this time in da UAE... lets hope he gets lucky... maybe someday ill get my hands on that ride.. also ill try 2 post pics asap..
