Guys,
What do you think about this one?
This is one LeMans winning R8 which it seems like for the first time will be a production car. A V8, 414 bhp, all wheel drive.
(Although the LeMans Quattro was a V10 with 610 bhp)
It is supposed to orderable from this week. Atleast that what the press from the Paris show says. FIrst delivery by mid-2007.
Still no price has been annouced.

This is old news!
It will be based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and will be a great sports car to say the least. Same 5.0l V10 powerplant is expected. Will compete with the M6. Pricing will be about the same as an M6 too even though it looks like a supercar!

Some publications are reporting that the pricing has been announced and is around $115k in US.
Thats about AED 400k, which is probably just right. Slightly higher than the BMW 6-series.

costs like an M6.. feels way too expensive although.... Lets hope audi also gives us a touch of mechanical performance just like they did in da RS4..
Mechanical performance = no electronics or technology stands between u n ur driving..

RS4 is an amazing vehicle. Agree that it would be good to have an old-fashioned power machine without all those electronics trying to tell you how to drive it.

actually it is a shame 2 get an exotic car n load it with electronics that control ur driving conditons... Mechanical performance shall never die!!! wouldnt it feel great to control 300-600 horsepowers with ur bare hands? like the TVRs and the shelby cobras??

root, remember I typed a real long post about manuals and automatics? Do me a favour and please post the link here.
I agree that there's nothing like having total control over all that power, but there are other things that need to be considered.

safety systems r preferable in commercial cars. but when it comes 2 a performance car... having ABS, stability control, or EBD is not a preferable trait...
TVR builds cars without even airbags da only safety system is da seatbelts n ppl come out safe from crashes as fast as 120KM...
Other cars like bentleys n da Audi RS4 u get 2 shutdown those systems when ever u want 2 get pure performance...

You won't be needing 'pure performance' 24 hours a day, 7 times a week.
Anyway, they can be switched off by a simple touch of a button. So what's the hassle?
And, BTW, TVR isn't the best sports car manufacturer around, is it? You may need to give me proof of people walking away from crashes at 120km/h with only seat belts.
