Hi guys

I am still undecided on what SUV to buy. What do you think abt the Hyundai Veracruz??
Is it reliable??

Or the new Jeep Cherokee 2008 model??

I'm a bit skeptical about the Cherokee but the Veracruz is total high-quality and reliability, Hyundai at its best!
Resale is kinda poor on both of these though.
Give respect, get respect.

Slightly underpowered if you have the 5-door version. Fine if you have the 3 door version.

Yeah, resale, off roading and value-for money wise it's good!

which year is the Pajero? 2005? If both 2005, then Prado definitely ( I presume you are talking Prado VX).

The new shape I believe came out in 2007 over here and 2006 in some other countries.

I would take the Pajero! New, leather, warranty, and new shape!

Admit, its slightly underpowered, but you can't get everything.

I think you've answered your question yourself.

First of all Al-Futtaim does not have the 2008 model here yet, so I don't know how you can get one (maybe grey-import?).

Secondly, the price for a brand new 4.7l commander 2007 model is AED 120k. It used to be AED 142k but they are getting rid of stock these days. This is for the full options one - leather, alloy wheels, etc

Now, even at 120k, dropping down 25k after 7000 km is high for me! That's why I say bad resale value.

Now, being at the buying end, you might think its a bargain. That is unless it falls another 25k until next year.

In general, the Jeeps are ok buys, but their popularity is going down day by day here. Resale is an issue. Offroading...they are ok. Some love them (specially the Wrangler which is meant for rough rides), and some complain that their car keeps on squeaking after their last desert dune bash!

If you like it, its definitely more vehicle for the dirham than many other vehicles. If you want resale, stick to boring japanese 4x4s.

hi guys

i test drove the chorokee, pajero and 2005 prado yesterday

No impressed with the jeep. Looks cheap for its price.

Liked the ride of the prado and pajero.

Cant decide now

Prado vx 2005- ful spec, leather, sunroof-35 000km-124 000 AED
Pajero BRAND NEW-3.0 OR 3.8 L-120 - 131 000 AED-50 000KM SERVICE PLAN

WHICH IS THE BETTER OPTION-RESALE? PRICE? OPTIONS?

Go with Pajero, in my opinion! 3.8 L if you can afford that.

Go for Pajero, nothing beats a brand new ride with a service plan.
Give respect, get respect.
