Discuss the best SUV or 4-Wheel Drive to get or not to get....
by root on Mon Dec 10, 2007 4:03 pm
Qashqai has been recently released here! Its been a big success in Europe...still to see how it does here.
They have another new model, the Xterra.
Nissan is second to Toyota, but still Toyota rules the market here.
Yeah, the RAV4 and Fortuner have a mommy stigma attached to them. Not justified totally in my view.
Fords have traditionally not been reliable and loose a lot on resale. The Edge is supposedly their new star and has had good reviews internationally. Too early to say if it will succeed here.

The Qashqai here comes in 3 models. All are 2.0 liter.
AED 69,000 - 2-wheel drive FWD - all power option
AED 72,000 - 2-wheel drive FWD - as above but with alloy wheels, map lights, power mirrors
AED 83,500 - 4-wheel drive - 17-inch wheels, bluetooth
Warranty 3 years, 2 free services are included.
A service package for 2 years costs AED 2400.
I just spoke to the agent, and currently there is a wait-list for this car as well.
The Xterra starts at 92k, but that has a 4.0 liter engine.

If you were in such a hurry, instead of waiting one whole day and doing this:

you could've just called the dealership up yourself.

i recommend you come for a ride at Abu dhabi corniche thursday after 8 p.m , and have a look on some coupe phantoms or a bit of convertable massaraty's ... then you can know the status ...
My friend, if you are an engineer, then get a prado or pajero....if you are desk worker who will spend time at office, and live inside Abu dhabi city, then an SUV wont work for you, remember the Abu Dhabi city has a major parking problem...specially if you live in appartments in towers...people hardly find free parking...
good luck, let us know when are arriving UAE, then things will be easier ..
why dont you get ES350 lexus...lol

The top range Fortuner costs 115k and comes with cruise control, navigation, dual zone a/c, mp3 cd player etc.

If you want status, you won't even get it with something costing 500k-800k. Status here only comes if you have 1 million+ to play with.
It doesn't matter if it is an SUV or a sedan, depends on which SUV or sedan you have.
Give respect, get respect.

U.S trims and options aren't similar to what we get.

Last time I checked with Galadari, they said 127k full options.
The price has gone up just in 2 months.
