Audi Q7 v6 vs Porsche Cayenne v6 ?

Postby root on Fri Sep 21, 2007 5:02 pm

Another versus question to you guys! A friend's looking into getting the Q7, but I'd rather he get the Cayenne.

The V6 versions of the Q7 and Cayenne.

Both cost almost the same.
I think they are both based on the same platform.

Brand comparision...I'd rate Porsche to be higher (but primarily for sports vehicles not SUVs), but Audi is not far behind.

If you had the money, what'd you get?

Of course, X5. Even in the previous shape, it's very good car, like sport jacket, made specially for you size!

is he looking to get a brand new cayenne? the 2008 slightly redesigned model? it has a more powerful v6 compared to the older cayenne v6. the q7 with the v6 will be slower, but i like the interior/gadgets of the q7 better.

the cayenne handles better. i dont like the interior of the cayenne and rear legroom is also less. if i had to choose between the v6 models id go with the q7. but if we bring the v8's into the picture, cayenne s or turbo without a doubt.

what does your friend want? performance/handling or comfort/luxury with more space?

Brembo is right.
My heart would prefer the Cayenne but my head would go for the Q7.
If spaciousness and ride comfort are a priority, Q7 ftw.
If he is single or just married, then the Cayenne would be better.
New Cayenne rocks though.

I think comfort/luxury as well as resale value are the prime objectives. He's not a racer.

Ok..here's another twist to the question:

VW Touareg V6 vs Q7/Cayenne ?

The Touareg is way cheaper, and quality wise is way up there.
Again the same platform as those other two.

My head says Touareg is better value for money.

yup the Touareg is good VFM. how much is the v6 q7 cost? what are VW vs Audi servicing cost/plans? do they both have 60k kms coverage or more?

or how about the lexus rx350 (good VFM too), i like its engine very powerful and well equipped. though not many like the exterior.

I hear they aren't selling Audi Q7 in the 3.6 litre format in this country to avoid direct competition with the VW Touareg. If so, the only option is the 4.2 litre Q7, right?

They are selling the V6 3.6 here.
The Touareg is a nice choice if you wanna save loads of money.
RX might have a great interior and engine plus Jap reliability but its still ugly.

Prosche ...no doubt...

by the way it has a very good resale value compared to lots of other SUV, it is more valuable than X5 and Q7....

in terms of roadsters...the Q7 is attractive, because audi doesnt have a large customers base...so we all say when we see a Q7 "Oh, that man has got good money to waste"...

but on the otherhand, the Cayenne is a very respected sports brand, i think it should be listed with racing brands, i mean its like Armani...and the number of sales proof that ...

audi missed the train ....they are trying to beat other brands...but still something wrong is happening with them...even in their strange designs..
