Lavida..where on the internet?

Am not upto date on the outlanders, but normally a new shape/model comes to middle-east 1 year after its introduction in US or Japan.
So if you are looking at a US website, it might explain why the dealer is saying whats he's saying.

Lavida,
i actually spoke to them regarding the same thing.
The new Outlander with a 3.0L V6 does look very good!

They told me that it will be here by July - August.

Looks good - but i feel like parts of it have been taken from other manufacturers designs and kinda slapped on.... :?:

Here is a pic:

I already ordered one from USA, it will cost me 23000USD , I think it's below the local market price, and I will have the chance to drive by next month..

I dont think you should...

Postby navadv on Fri Mar 16, 2007 12:37 pm

23,000USD? with shipping and US taxes??

23,000 x 3.673 = 84,479 AED

....and then you have to pay import taxes at Dubai which i think is 5% of the value of the car.

84,479 x 5% = 4,224AED

So overall close to 88,700AED - i think thats too much... :?
If u really cant wait, and have the money to spend - then sure... its ur decision. But in my opinion - wait 2 months and u will get it alot cheaper.

PLUS - if u import it, i doubt u will get ANY warranty on the car. That means if u drive it a day after u buy it and something goes wrong - you gotta pay for everything!
Then u got to consider if anything needs to be changed. American Spec cars can be built differently to GCC Spec. For example - an American Spec will probably have a heater .... but here in UAE, a heater may cause u issues (i hear it does for VW).

Then if u are thinking long term - a US import will depreciate faster as well!

Just think about it... its probably not worth it.

Plus i also checked the American website - at 23,000USD ur buying a base model or second option (out of 6) - it may have all that you need but consider that u could probably get the full option version for that price when it comes to Dubai.

And then again, It is really unlikely that the Outlander will be more than 90K.

yes my friend you are right, but at that day I was very angry that they were trying to convence me that there is no 2007 model. so I ordered through a friend in Awir, and already I paid 5000 usd as down payment, but they promise to give me top of range by the end of March 2007!! and i still have to pay the clearing cost, and that will be known after the car is in..
I know that I acted fast, but there is no way back..
thanks for the advice, but unfortunetly it came late, due to my rushing..
My only hope that they will delay, then only I can skip the contract and ask for my money back ;)
