Is it the Acura RL being introduced to counter Lexus and Infiniti, or just a better Accord?
Price class it's competing with Lexus and Infiniti, slightly more luxurious brands.
Some features I've figured out so far. TNT, please correct if its wrong:
- 3.5 liter V6 engine pushing 290 horsepower with 259 lb-ft torque
- 0-100 kmph in 7.3 seconds.
- 5-speed automatic rear wheel drive with paddleshifting
- Honda “Super-Handling” (whats that?)
- Night vision driving...sees obstacles for your...this sounds cool
- Honda’s LKAS lane guidance system that scans the road markings and steers the car for you.
But at 160k, we're competing against BMW, Audi and others as well, and still get a 'Honda'.

Root, the super handling pack is a All wheel drive system, i dont think the car is rwd. maybe if they sold it as the Acura RL here it would be worth the 160k, but with a honda badge i dont think ppl would bother
have taken a test drive (back in the US)and i loved the interior fit and finish.
my friend was looking to buy this car, finally he picked the infiniti m45 because it was slighly faster

Well its not much of a looker but most people may feel 160K is too much bcuz the honda badge comes along with it...
Man, u can't tell we gonna have 2 test drive it & see ourselves... & r u sure its RWD??

I wonder why they dont bring in Acura here!
Actually it makes no sense that Al-Futtaim has the dealership for both Toyota and Honda in this country. I am sure if there was anyone else they would try to take on Lexus and Toyota with Acura.

no its AWD, but something fancy where it can send power to the one single wheel that needs it the most. super handling pack something!!
fifth gear did test this around a track along with a bmw 5 series and an audi i think. the acura wasnt fast, but overall package was good.

i wont ever pay 160K with a honda badge and a not an SUV.
with 155K i will get the Caprice SS with gross horsepower of 360+, and feel the power..
or, i would purchase the ES350 Lexus, with 270 Hp, and 6 speed transmission which is more economical includign a huge variety of technologies that really relaxes a driver..
by the way ..if a system can read the street marks and steer the wheel ..do yuo think this would be called driving ..and what are the garantees for such a system and what % of errors might happend to end you on a wheel chair ..
with honda...never...

Hey, some of these things are pretty nifty. Many people said similar stuff about cruise control in the beginning, but todays its a different story.

Guys! The lane departure control just slightly vibrates the steering in the opposite direction if the car is going out of lane just to alert the driver. It doesn't actually 'steer' the car!

Yeah, proves the discussion point that Al-Futtaim is not the greatest dealer around for selling Hondas. The premium Hondas would hit their Lexus sales!
Having said that, at 165k there are a few other cars I'd probably look at other than a "Honda"..the badge has a hard time getting recognition when price goes above 100k. That's why they have Acura in US!

According to me, the reason that the Legend doesn't sell is because of its 165k price tag bundled with the 'H' badge. Change the price or change the badge. There is no way on earth it would hit Lexus sales with that badge!

Ive learned 1 thing after driving several cars & sharing my thoughts with several people who owned bmws, mercs & lexuses, a Japanese luxury saloon will always serve you well & cost less than a German rival on a long run. Nothing beats Japanese reliability & durability on the long term...

It is a n excellent car though but 165k is such an amount for a Honda Legend. It cannot rival Lexus and so I think the product is not worth the amount.

Yeah, pitched against the Toyota Avalon its pricey! Against the Lexus ES350 at 185k, its not that much cheaper, so jimbrown is kinda right.
