Another beauty that we dont see here:
Its a bit like the Lexus IS and GS but cheaper and love that X on the front.
Comes in 2.5 and 3 liter V6s.
Saw one a few weeks ago (abroad) and had to stop and ask the person what the car was.

Here's the special edition version. Only 100 made apparently: Some more info: Toyota launched the Mark X "Special Version" to celebrate the 50th aniversary of Toyota's Toyopet Dealer network in Japan. The Mark X "Special Version" is based off the 250G "S Package" & 300G Premium "S Package" equipped with the "Vertiga" kit by Modellista. The 2.5 4GR-FSE engine in the Mark X is unchanged but 3.0 3GR-FSE engine gains a supercharger, boosting horsepower to 320PS/6,400 r.p.m. & torque to 360Nm/3,800 r.p.m.! (Stock rating is 256PS/6,200r.p.m. & 314Nm/3,600 r.p.m.). Special Equipmewnt for the Mark X "Special Version" include; -Modellista "Vertiga" full bodykit. -Exclusive Carbon Fiber front spoiler extentions. -Rear Skirting with Air dam unique to the 3.0 model. -TOM's Supercharger for 3.0 model. -Color-coded Sports Mesh Grille. -Subtle trunk spoiler. -Chrome side rubbing strips. -Stone White Leather Trim. -19 inch wheel & tire combo.
This sure is one roomy ride, look at the rear seat foot room (pic root posted). Just amazing! One Toyota I'd like to own.
Here is its competitor which DOES come to the UAE. :http://www.honda.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/Honda.com.au/Home/Showroom/Legend/ I saw this beauty in the Al-Futtaim Honda dealership on airport road. The one in display was black with black leather. Looked pretty damn awesome to me and the interior was very impressive! Price is a bit steep though, 160k AED for a Honda. Though it comes with sat nav, nightvision, adaptive cruise, sunroof, park sensors, BOSE sound system (I'm a sucker for quality sound systems in cars), electric blinds, turning headlamps and loads of other luxury and convenience features. Its a 3.5V6 with 'Super Handling AWD' (another name for adaptive AWD system with power shifting differentials, think Audi Quattro)

More pics, first post wasn't taking more than 4 attachments

For those asking about FWD or RWD, I found this:
The Toyota Mark X shares the same rear wheel drive platform as the Toyota Crown and the Lexus GS luxury sedan, although it’s market positioning is actually slightly below the Lexus IS sports sedan. The Toyota Mark X is powered by either a 2.5 liter V6 4GR-FE or a 3.0 liter V6 3GR-FE. Both engines are aluminium blocked and have dual-VVTi and Toyota D4 direct injection. The 3.0 liter V6’s 256hp is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. There are 4WD models but those come with a 5-speed auto instead. The lower-end 2.5 liter V6 has 215hp instead.
again off topic:
TNT did you say the honda legend is going to be sold here in the UAE???? whoa thats some news alright!!! P.S Bose sucks, not only is it overpriced the sound quality sucks (im talking about BOSE products in general) *gets into flamesuit in case there are any Bose fans in here*
Bose does not suck, but you are totally right that its overpriced for what you get! Did you guys know that Bose was started by an Indian guy, Professor Bose who teaches acoustics at MIT? Its a course almost all undergrad engineering students take. From my friends who have taken it, its quite an entertaining course. The guy has a pretty interesting life story. A topic on its own...we should really discuss what car speakers are best? Maybe our new Texan friend who wants to move to Dubai can add some intelligence into the discussion.
