Citroen C6

Postby ewap8 on Sun Apr 08, 2007 11:10 am

I haven't seen a lot of citroens on the Dubai road, and certainly none of any C6's. I think the Citroen C6 is quite a nice looking car, but haven't heard any local experiences from anyone. What do Citroen owners think? Quality/service? Any issues?

I dont even know if there is an official Citroen agent in the UAE. Thats how uncommon this car is here ;)

The car looks nice, and Citroen has always had a bunch of funky features that other cars did not have (like the hydraulic height control).

Things to keep in mind are: cost, insurance, driving pleasure, repairs, spare parts, this climate and resale.

I think a Citroen would rate as:
cost: +
insurance: -
driving pleasure: +
repairs: ---
spare parts: ---
this climate: ---
resale: ---

Put in your subjective values and do the maths ;)
My opinion is to stay away.

I don't think the Citroen C6 is good-looking. For me, it is just different from the rest.

there is a citroen dealer in the uae... their previous location was next 2 the old HUMMER showroom on the road taking 2 dnata... ow i dunno where they moved...

I check Citroens there b4... the good thing abt them is the price tag compared 2 the loads of options... but their cars r very very electronic... service, maintenance & spare parts r also a concern...

C4 is pretty impressive & cheap i recall seeing with a price of 57k with full power options, alloys, 6speakers with subwoofer... Full digital dashboard & a steering wheel with a fixed centre area (<< hope u got what i meant)...

Picasso Van is a pretty cool family van with a full panoramic roof...

Yes, I did get what you mean and this is one of the 'only in a Citroen' feature. Not something that I like, though, because I am used to steering wheels that turn. :P

the good thing about citreon is that it is totally controlled electronically...i remember in late 90's when i was in college, my friend got one, and the dashboard was full of buttons which was not usual to rest of cars...

Those were the golden old days which are long-gone now and the company has lost all the appeal it had, which it never even had in this part of the world.

Only 179 Citroens have been advertised since this site started 3 years ago, and some of these ads are repeats. Ironically someone just posted a Citroen for sale today..even with pictures! ;)

BTW...has anyone seen the top-10 list on the front page of cars advertised. I had'nt checked it for a while, but it shows which makes are how popular in UAE. Merc at #3 and Peugeot at #10 is pretty impressive:

1. Toyota - 68491
2. Nissan - 48673
3. Mercedes-Benz - 42911
4. Honda - 40147
5. BMW - 35876
6. Mitsubishi - 23258
7. VW - 19651
8. Chevrolet - 19288
9. Ford - 17419
10. Peugeot - 15059
