Better stop dreaming guys because I can bet that it won't come to this market.
It would have been a sweet ride as navadv said with that power plant and 6 speed sequential auto. It might have turned over Toyota's boring car image too with its looks and performance, but unfortunately we won't be getting it. Doesn't look good in yellow. Blue is better. Haha, what did you say? Given American cars a kick in the ass? YEAH RIGHT! No wonder GM and Ford are kicking Toyota ass bigtime in Australia with their Lumina's and Falcon's which are certainly 'interesting'. And no sports sedan in that class or price kicks Charger SRT-8/RT or Lumina SS ass. 116k for the NEW Lumina SS, what more do you want? Looks, style, performance and a world-class suspension system. Superb build-quality and a high-end, tight fit 'Lexus-style' interior. It goes as fast as it looks with a 0-100km/h time of 5.0s. The Aurion is heavier and slower and certainly will be more expensive. I am not saying the Aurion isn't good, I am just saying that it isn't better. I love the Aurion too, but the interior and Toyota badge turns me off. Its like they are trying to copy the Americans by making a large sedan with a big engine. It might be great but it certainly doesn't make me feel that 'muscle car to the bone' feel. Give respect, get respect.
If I am looking for a decent looking and high on power sedan/muscle car, 'reliability' would be my last concern. Safety, every car can be safe unless you drive like an idiot. Driving fast and furious is one thing, speeding like an idiot is another.
Give respect, get respect.
I just got news, the Aurion is going to come here.
I thought that it was released as a replacement for the Avalon in the Australian market and as the Avalon is quite new, I assumed that it won't come here. But they are going to release it here! Yaay! Maybe its here to compensate for the lack of V6 in the new Camry. Whatever it is, I hope it is sportier and less-boring than the Avalon. Give respect, get respect.
I've got proof! I am starting to like the Aurion. Maybe because it is 'buy-able' now!
http://www.futtaim.com/content/prDetail ... 14&Id=1835 268HP is a bit less for a large sedan like this so I guess Altima V6 remains the king of the hill. Smart entry system, dual auto air conditioning, power rear sunshade, HID headlamps and Satellite Navigation means this is going to be one well equipped ride. I thought this was going to be an exciting Toyota, but I think it will just be another big entry level luxury sedan.
That might be the price of the base model, I hope it has enough goodies to make it 'competitive'. Give respect, get respect.
dropped by Toyota today to see it
like the Avalon, they dont have a display model and there already is a 2-3 month waiting period! Only display model is in Festival City (near Ikea in Garhoud) But the price ranges from 92000 - base 99000 - mid range 105,000 - almost full options (lacks leather and navigation) 117,000 - full options Compared the dimensions to that of the Camry - same width, same height - only 122mm longer. Probably means it will be the same interior (space wise) as the Camry. Gonna check it out this saturday with my dad - he seems tempted but still likes the Fortuner alot....let us see! sure there are a couple of doo-dads that seem real nifty - but at the end of the day you can still buy a comparable vehicle at 86-92,000 AED (Accord V6)
Re: Toyota Aurionyes it is coming and Toyota had displayed this car in ABU DHABI Motor show and in shoping mall, like mall of emiartes.
Price starts from 88,000/- AED
