Some Downtime tonight!

Postby root on Tue May 20, 2008 11:03 pm

Hi,
We are going to try to upgrade the Forum to a new and hopefully better version tonight.
There will be some downtime during which the forum will not be available.

Hence, if it does not work tonight..come back tomorrow morning and Inshallah everything would be better than before.

Wish us luck in this upgrade ;)

Upgrade

Postby rbdxb on Thu May 22, 2008 8:19 am

Hi guys,

A couple of suggestion from my end to upgrade, Request you to please consider if possible.

A) when you "reply" to a particular post the Subject matter should carry forward. this will help users track the posts indiviually. No wonder one see more of NO SUBJECT in the home page updates.

B) Can we have a spell check on the post PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ. many including me are not really very good with spellings  and fall back o F7 in a usual document none out here.

Thanx,
rbdxb

Good ideas!

I thought there was already a spell-check. At least I get it for every time I type in everything - on this site or any other site. It might depend on if one has MS Word also installed on the computer.

Avatars should work now as well!

If they don't show up...try doing a full-refresh (Shift-F5 or Control-F5) and they'll show up!

Hey rbdxb...your wish A) is now solved ;)

B) as I said is something that is provided by the browsers these days. I get a red underline if something is mis-spelled. I normally use Firefox, but I think same happens on Internet Explorer.

Hope you like the new look!

That red underlining does show up on Firefox but not on IE.

Hi root,

Thanx a lot, the changes look good and i kind of also like the fact the now the name avataar etc will be on the left, so if the post is a big one we will not have to scroll to the right to read the full thing.

WRT spell-check well i use IE so will have to check how to activate it. nevertheless gr8 job, will wait for more...

P.s glad to see the go green out here to, you have a new smiley for that.
