well as far as i know its still on, but fact of the matter is, some cars just walk out of the door even with greedy stealers jacking up the price, there are people to pay.
what i dont understand is, the dealers can sell more if they reduce the prices to rest of the world level and they can still get their profits cause they would be selling a lot more. instead they try to get maximum profits from 1 car, instead of lowering prices and getting maximum profit from selling 1000 more cars

another update, went back to lexus with another friend (woman) who wanted to check out the is300, waited around the car and in it for about 20mins no salesguy.
went into one room, one guy was busy chatting on his mobile (ntn related to selling leuxs), other guy was chatting with a woman, again nothing related to lexus.

finally spoke to him and he was completely non interested in selling the car with a very indifferent attitude. all his answers to our questions were mono syllables. got quite pissed, let him know he was a terrible sales guy and left.

called dynatrade and the salesguy came to my friends office in 2hrs time, paid the deposit, will get the car next week. saved about 20k in the process also.

good bye al futtaim, i will make sure everyone i know goes to dynatrade for a toyota or lexus.

Dynatrade is grey-market! The company is allegedly owned by the Toyota dealer in Oman and someone from the Sharjah royal family.

They bring brand new Toyotas/Lexus from Oman and undercut Al-Futtaim prices.

Most people I've heard have been happy with Dynatrade. They even have their own workshops in Dubai and Sharjah, so service is not a problem like Al-Futtaim wants everyone to believe.
