Mitsubishi Lancer Ex

Postby Pacific on Sun May 04, 2008 9:07 pm

My friend is keen on buying a Mitsu Lancer EX - 2 litre. He will be using it as a daily commuter car clocking in 80 kms. What do you say - any suggestions, pros and cons about this ride. Strangely this one didnt get discussed too much like the new Accord, Altima etc.

It is a nice car. Ride quality and power is great for the price. Comfort should mean a lot in this case as he has to commute 80 km per day, I suggest test driving it.

Hi,

I second what TNT says. you have to test drive it. probably as suggested in one of the earlier strings may be hire the model for a couple of days.

80Km of driving in what conditions is important. the typical stop and go or a run on the Dubai bypass road both are different to be comfortable on the drive

Update.....

My friend tested the Lancer and according to him the rear seats are bit crampy and dosent have enough leg room, all the other details he liked in the car. Now he has reserved the new Mazda 6 for himself and he is eagerly waiting for it.

Sweet choice!
Could you please inquire about the price of the new Mazda 6 and post it here for our convenience. :)

98k!! Yikes, that's a lot for a Mazda6. I thought it would be around 80k max.

Is the 2.5 litre a v6?

The cost of Mazda 6 is as follows -

2 litre:

Basic - 64800 Full options - 72500

2.5 litre:

Basic - 74800 Full options - 95800

I think Mazda is now seriously gunning for Accord and Altima territory with their smart looks, new powerful engine and loads of serious fun.

The lower end seems competitive but the upper end seems less so.

I think the Accord V6 fully loaded goes for 110k...I'd rather take that than a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder Mazda6.

I'd rather take a V6 Altima over an Accord or a Mazda 6 :D

kinda steep IMO! We're in Lexus, Infiniti territory almost....or I guess it used to be their price level a couple of years ago.

The coupe must be even more expensive, right?

I guess I am a bit misguided, this is the Altima Coupe's price maybe.
Oh what the hell, I'll call them myself and ask!
