Hi guys,
I drive quite a lot, about 200 Kms a day. my average fuel consumption is about 6-8 gallons a day.
I know about this fuel called E+ from Adnoc. it says that it is 91 Octane and the regular is 95 Octane. frankly I dont understand much of the number.
Please advise, what excatly is this in laymans terms. will it effect my engine? will it be worth saving that 50 fils on each gallon? more importantly what about the impact on enviorment is it better or worse than regular?
Thanx.

hey man
for starters, Many high-performance engines are designed to operate with a high maximum compression and thus need a high quality (high energy) fuel usually associated with high octane numbers and thus demand high-octane premium gasoline.
however this is def not the rule with all cars, depending on the compression ratio and max power output of your engine and the sea level relevant altitude you live on.. you might need a lower octane number
Octane ratings can vary greatly from region to region. For example, the minimum octane rating available in much of the United States is 87 and the highest is 93. However this does not mean that the gas is different.

i know this is pretty hard to comprehend.. if all that interests you in octane rating is how much your car needs, just check out the Saudi Aramco website and you'll find out
http://www.9195.info/9195/9195/contentA ... EHICLELIST
hopefully you'll find yours here, and btw there is no need to go for 95 if your car is listed as a 91 as this will have no affect on your cars performance.. just dent your pocket

I always go for 95!
I think going higher is actually worse for the engine (heats up too much, too fast).
Everyone says 91 is ok. The site is good, but I'd recommend to consult your manual as the fuel requirements change with model years.

Hey guys,
Thanx a lot.
Aerslan, speciall thanx to you. dude you hit the nail on the head. the moment i broke the info to my collegues all of them gathered to check the link. most of us drive a similar distance.
Since we all checked a number of car models. it gets me to another question. most of the cars involved needed only 91 then why is it not freely available?
Will it not help all involved if 91 were available even in the Dubai pumps.

Dubai pumps don't really want to sell petrol! They lose money on each liter they sell.
I think ENOC wanted to shut down their outlets if they were not allowed to raise prices, but the Ruler did not allow that, saying that ENOC makes enough money from their other petroleum business, so they can afford passing some subsidies to the consumer.

Aha,
That also explains their stand on the credit cards issue. they started charging a fee to the users and now they do not accept it at all.
