Car Breakers in UAE/ Oman

Postby ianahainey on Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:27 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get the back end of a Porsche 996. After an engine fire, I am trying to help the garage find a Carerra that has been damaged from the front.

Any ideas, as I don't really know where to start, but I'll bet there are plenty written off Carreras out there - especially in the UAE.

Many thanks!

Where are you based? There are several people in Europe and US that will sell salvaged parts online.

In UAE, I am not sure where you can find Porsche parts. Sharjah market is probably the logical place, but if they have Porsche parts is not certain. Probably worth checking with Al-Naboodah if they have this (but they won`t be cheap), or check with some insurance companies on what they do with salvaged vehicles.
Come and discuss at the most lively forums about Cars, Bikes, 4x4s...at http://www.autodealer.ae at the Autodealer UAE Forums.

Thanks. I live in the UAE and there is a huge amount of carerras here. Would like a direct contact of someone who deals with such car 'breaking'. Sharjah is a maze Thanks.

You will not find Porsche parts in Sharjah, don't bother wasting your time there.
What you should do is talk to a few insurance companies if they have any cancelled cars they would like selling, I doubt anyone will cut the rear end and give it to you.

Thanks,

I didn't expect they would cut the rear end. Any idea who I should ask for in insurance companies? I could imagine a call to Axa trying to explain this would be a complete waste of time...

Insurance companies do auction off cancelled cars, phone call wouldn't help though.
Pay them a visit and explain the situation.

I know this is an old post again. Gonna plug it as it appears on google. Sharjah does have a huge collection of used porsche and new porsche parts. Check out al jabiri and al faour behind the city centre. Full with loads of parts. http://www.faourcars.com/contactus.asp
