RE-EXPORT of VEHICLE in GCC

Postby ajayjyothi on Sat Jan 23, 2010 5:56 pm

Hi

I brought two vehicles (2007GXR and 2008Yaris Models)from Bahrain to Qatar last year. I got custom exemption using docs from Bahrain Car leader. However now I am planning to move back to Bahrain and want to take the vehicle back. Can I get custom exemption in Bahrain? If so what document I need? Since I imported vehicle to Qatar no dealer involved! Any restriction (Model/Year)in Bahrain to import vehicles?

Please Advise

Not really sure on how stuff works in Bahrain, but you can normally get the custom papers from the dealer where you bought the car originally, if it was a new vehicle. Once, you have that, you can try to convince the customs that its already paid. I am not sure there is a straight process on how this would be handled.

Question is how much you'll save with all the hassle, as the new custom would be based on the actual second hand price which many customs value at quite low.

Thanks for the reply.

In my case since no dealer involved how I can proceed?

For sure I can say around 6000-7000 AED for both vehicles together.

Thanks

Well, you need to somehow get proof of that custom has already been paid on that vehicle! If the car was originally sold by the dealer in Bahrain, you might want to talk to their accounts team to see if they can help you. Take your chassi number to them.

I feel you will have to go through a lot of hassle and running around.
